Mother calls columbines weeds. They always grow everywhere.

Which stone did you use for the masonry?
We also have something planned in the garden. With the desired format, we can’t avoid cutting. Aerated concrete would be very DIY-friendly because it’s easy to work with. But it doesn’t do well with water; it would have to be slurry-coated or plastered on all sides … I’d prefer calcium silicate brick, but that means using a large cutoff grinder and dealing with a lot of dust …

and everyone else....

When is the best time of year to plant peonies? Spring or autumn?

And when are they usually available for purchase at the garden center? I've actually never consciously seen them......

We also have columbines in masses on the earthen embankment. Inside and also on the outside on the street side:

Thanks to pre-sprouting, the potatoes are already well developed, although I planted them late. The strawberries are magnificent this year - I was able to harvest the first handful today. I only have to deal with snails in the greenhouse; today I collected about 20 again and fed them to the neighbor's chickens.

So far, everything is thriving beautifully - tomatoes and chili are growing well, the melon pear from last year is sprouting again wonderfully, the sweet corn is growing strongly, and the Zipperle trees are bearing well, as is the still quite young quince. The kiwis are now sprouting wildly in their second year. Only the fig tree has died :( But there will be two new ones instead. I don’t want to do without figs.

...and I am always happy about my little helper that I sewed for myself in the spring: the seed packet organizer! In recent years, I never managed to reseed at the right time or at all. In the spring, I always had the most wonderful plans, but by August at the latest, I gave up when I looked at the seed packet shelf. Something needed to bring order. Now I can fill the thing in the spring and see what still needs/can be sown later. Even small "always reseed things" like radishes and lettuce have their handy place near the exit to the garden.

(The photo was taken a few months ago, so the thing is still empty and the garden is bare...)
