The green roof looks great and lives up to its name! I need to google "Sprossen" right away. I really want to green our garage roof too, but my husband isn't quite convinced yet. He thinks it's unnecessary and too expensive for "wilted plants." So I'll be sure to show him your photo later… ;)

A green roof is really great. I will take photos for you later in full sunshine. If allowed, I can also send you a link to the company where I bought the sprouts. You can buy them individually or in mixtures such as "color mix," "shade/semi-shade," "red mix," "white mix," "red-pink mix," and many more. There is also a "custom mix." I chose the "yellow mix" and am delighted with it. I will sprout everything that can remotely be called a roof and is at least somewhat suitable. ;-) My husband was originally against it too, and if you want to cover 20-25 sqm with mature plants in a color of your choice, it gets expensive. But not with sprouts. (Seeds are even cheaper, but that takes too long for me, and it would probably just become a bird buffet.) Before my research, I didn’t even know that sprouts were available for purchase. And what I also find great is that this mill in Heiligenberg - Steigen at Lake Constance even offers "joint mixes of low sedum species," which I can later sprinkle between joints in paths, the driveway, or the like. As mentioned, my husband was initially completely against it as well, but when I wanted to do everything myself and get up on the high garage roof, he took it over and did it better and more thoroughly than I could have. @Everyone: Does anyone else here in the forum have a green roof and can/wants to share experiences and photos? Also from neighbors or friends would be great. That would be wonderful.

Addendum: Does a green roof count as a garden and is it allowed to be discussed in this thread? Maybe if one benevolently interprets "Gründach" as "roof garden"?

I have a Gründach on my garden shed. I'll take a photo - if it doesn't rain.

I’m looking forward to that, thank you. :) Do you know why "so many" of your gender don’t want a green roof? Because of the work? Is it some kind of man-woman thing? I’m asking you because your name suggests a man.
