Yes, there have been praying mantises in Berlin and Brandenburg for years. We also had 8 egg cases on the property, I was able to observe hatching twice. We have 1055 sqm, at that time we were very lucky to also be able to buy the adjoining woodland.

Ok, so similar to Steffi, but then I really have problems with the perspective. It always looks so huge with you. Which is not to say that 1000 m² would be small. That is twice as much as we have, but in the photos it looks like 10 times as much.

Partly it was taken with a wide-angle lens to capture everything I want :). But yes, it looks huge. Our neighbors also have no fences at the height, which naturally makes it look different again.

Very nice at your place, and then all the animals and insects - simply great. :)

Thank you very much! With a natural garden, meaning not too tidy and many native plants (our animals rely on them), it works quite reliably. I really enjoy being able to go into the garden every day :)

We are currently trying to redesign our garden as naturally as possible. We already have a few "wild corners," insect hotels, and flowering strips with insect-friendly mixtures. Since then, we have had some hedgehogs and, of course, many insects, but not as much diversity as you have. However, we also have a much smaller area and are right in the middle of town. We also have a few less useful plants that were already there or that we acquired before our new insights and that we don't want/can't simply pull out. Nevertheless, we notice a clear change, and our "weed lawn" copes with the drought much better than the original "perfect" lawn. :)
