Berry season Slowly but surely the berries are really starting to come in: The strawberries are a marvel this year! I’ve already frozen a good 2 kilos for jam, and yesterday it was time for a strawberry cake. And it just doesn't stop Next up, the currants will be ripe, and the gooseberries are already lining up. And since the sour cherry tree is also bearing some fruit again, the rum pot is tempting I love this time of year!
After I started gardening very late and very reduced this year, the first fresh salad is only now slowly coming through. I’m always very lazy and sow a mixed cut-and-come-again salad. The bush beans are putting on the turbo, the zucchinis are still hesitating a bit. Tomatoes and cucumbers in the greenhouses, on the other hand, have already grown obediently I still have a few beds free, let’s see what I’ll bury in the soil there. A few strips of wildflower meadow will still be added: The bee-friendly plant is fully living up to its name by now!
The male mini kiwi by the house has finally gotten the trellis, and it has also put on the turbo. We just need the right female now; unfortunately, she passed away last year, a few weeks after planting.
But next garden task is to level the pool area again. In recent years, we always had an ugly blue above-ground pool, which broke last season. The same replacement is already ready; it’s supposed to bridge the time until the "real" pool in a few years. The pool heater will also go on the shed roof beforehand. Although this still needs to be somewhat altered, raised, and extended.... but I want to have the pool set up first
