We ate until we were stuffed… nicely with milk, pudding, or vanilla sauce. Easily 1.5 kg and more went down per day. Then I made jam. Not that much… we prefer to eat sour cherry or currant. The freezer also got quite a lot… pure fruit and lots of it pureed as puree in small portions (with ice cube trays) and as “ice lollies“. Now two large drawers are filled. Not to forget the strawberry cakes… there were plenty of those. And the neighbors were happy at first… they of course got some too. So far nothing has really gone “bad”… and I’m not tired of it yet… when I walk past the garden bed I already have to snack again :)

Now at least we know why the strawberry farmers are whining ;-)

Well, the farmers are supposed to sell strawberries at a loss. One farmer should deliver 500g picked for 1.2 euros.

A fruit farmer here in the area has deliberately plowed up a strawberry field for media impact o_O

Why should? Who decides that? Food wholesalers?
