And is a green manure crop even sensible on such a large area, or does it not matter?

It improves your soil, it doesn't cost much. Actually, there's nothing against green manure.

you said it was too late for vegetables. Google Marie from Wurzelwerk. She posted a video on Saturday with vegetables that should be sown or started in the bed in July.
There is also a book Winter Vegetables by Heidi Lorey.
There are still quite a few things that can be planted in the bed until October.

I like it. We have ideas for the next 15 years on our property and enjoy both the current state and every step - irrigation system, photovoltaics on the carport, sculpture trail, more trees, outdoor sauna, fire pit, purchase of an adjoining pasture (if it works out), taming and developing more areas like the 60-degree slope to the street or two cliff walls - always considering the habitat for critters... Some things get scrapped again, like the hillside elevator, which we actually don't need in practice since we designed the driveway differently than originally thought. Enjoyable motto for slowing down the process: The faster you go, nothing gets done.

Sounds great, everything you have planned :) Yesterday I told my husband how cool I think it is to do everything myself and to acquire knowledge. For now, we’re taking care of the basic things like setting curb stones, splash guard strips, etc., but when it works out well even as a layperson, you’re really proud. It’s a completely different feeling than when you have everything done by others.
