I don't like the living-dining room and the kitchen at all either. The dining area is uncomfortable, especially for the people who look towards the front door and sit with their backs to the window and the fireplace. The living area is a bit tight. The kitchen is a dark corridor. Where the kitchen furniture is, windows are missing (because of HAR). I also find the mirrored sleeping/children's room sensible.

Here is a suggestion on how to divide differently with few changes. It results in nice large south-facing windows, a great kitchen, and a cozy living room. I would definitely put doors to the windbreak and the hallway. I personally find open passages with views into hallways very uncomfortable. The additional door to the "private" hallway also provides noise protection and privacy on the way to the bathroom. The three-sided fireplace is centrally located and can be viewed from the living and dining areas. You could hang the TV on the wall to the left of the fireplace. Possibly a sitting window in the living room.

The only "toad" is that the storage room in the garage cannot be accessed from the house. However, with a covered entrance, you can still get into the house with dry feet if the door to HAR/storage room is located directly near the house wall.

True, looks better. But sleeping next to the utility room is certainly no highlight for both children and adults^^

You also can't turn on the washing machine when you go to sleep, but that should work with a bit of planning. Carrying laundry across the house is also not exactly desirable.

That can be planned. TK seems to be next to the garage anyway?
The washing machine can, for example, be placed on the outside wall or the partition wall a bit thicker. Usually, it is the door that lets washing or spin noises through.
But I have never known anyone who falls asleep because of such noises rather than being kept awake. At first glance, or rather the first hearing ;), these noises are a deterrent, but the second time you learn to appreciate them ;)
If one were to reconsider ’s suggestion, one would quickly come up with the idea of shifting the hallway a bit to the right (it doesn’t have to be centered… at least one should play around with variations again), and then placing the utility room where the bathroom is now. The dressing room could also be placed entirely at the top of the plan… meaning: the sleeping area holds more potential than just lining up rooms along the central hallway :)

You don't get any answers from the OP here despite your great efforts, it's clear that he was only interested in maybe hearing a "put another little plant there" or "the window in format XY would be better." All good, justified suggestions have remained uncommented so far; he picks out insignificant details in the responses. A shame for the effort of and others...
