Carport with tool room: Order or build yourself?

and Irgendwoabaier: Yes, we initially thought of a "hardware store" carport. Unfortunately, the desired model is no longer available. We don't really like the others. A friend who is a mason will take care of concreting the posts. Therefore, the idea came up to possibly build one ourselves. However, it will probably end up being more expensive than expected; good wood in these dimensions is not exactly cheap either. It will probably be a purchased carport after all. If the carport was not approved directly with the house building application, a building application must be submitted anyway, and a structural analysis is required for this. This is already completed with the ready-made kits.

A building permit for a carport is not required in every federal state.

I built my carport myself. 9x6m including [Geräteraum]. I had the structural calculations done and then ordered the wood cut to length at my building materials supplier. I didn't need a crane because I temporarily organized a handful of helpers for the purlins. It was a lot of work, but it saved me quite a bit of money. However, you should have at least a minimum level of craftsmanship.
