Now, to be honest, I'm surprised that it doesn't fit "very well" after all. ;) With my sketch, I had already tried to show you that back then. To your question: Yes, I would paint the terrace and integrate it into the living room. AND I would definitely give the living room even more window space on the left side. Do yourself a favor and draw your furniture in the now larger living room and see where you face a wall and could use a window. Windows near the dining table are always a great thing.

The furniture fit, but we did not expect the fireplace to be 1.64m wide :-)

Whether we paint the terrace depends on the energy efficiency consultant. If we don't get a KFW 55 subsidy because of the change, then it won't happen.

More windows on the left side would only cause even more heat, as the sun moves there from north (5 pm) to south (11 am).

We will see what the energy efficiency consultant says.

A brief explanation of why our furniture fits without any problems.

a) We are opting for a 1.60m * 0.80m extendable table because in 95% of the cases, three of us eat together.
b) It’s the same with the corner sofa. Max. 2.50m length, rather less.

We were aware that with this setup it’s not a large living room, but it would be enough for us. We will take a closer look at it again today and wait for the consultant's response.

Hehe, we eat as a pair in 95% of cases and have a 2.20 x 1.00 m table. But we also like to really dine properly sometimes and have the space for a big table. :p We also have very large south-facing windows in the living room, which are shaded on hot days with venetian blinds. This keeps it bright and still really cool. On the other hand, we enjoy warming sun rays in spring, autumn, and winter. Just some food for thought. But let's wait and see what your energy consultant says.

I would rather assume that, without the terrace, you will be energetically better off, since the window will no longer be shaded by the roof and that is (partly) the south side, right?

I don't think you need a completely new building permit, but definitely a modification, since you don't just want to move a window and this changes the cubic volume etc.

The question was whether anything can still be changed. The application is for about 140 sqm. Now it will be 150 sqm with the change.
