At the corner of your terrace, there is a 36x36 beam visible. Is
a) the terrace covered with your house's hip roof, or is
b) an additional flat roof extension planned.
In case a), it fully affects the house statics,
in case b), you can choose different roofs (glass, louvres, awnings, etc.)

You can leave the rafters above the seating area uncovered like a pergola, I do not consider the roof covering to be that crucial for the bracing, and then put slats underneath.
