Construction of a 144 sqm bungalow in Fichtenwalde (near Potsdam)

The dimensions and layout of the rooms are quite balanced. Personally, I don't like the dressing room and the fiddly built-in wardrobe possibilities in the cloakroom. Also, I find the living room far too dark – a few less wall stubs and thus more spaciousness could actually make this “my house,” if the open-plan area gets at least some additional uncovered window space. But my house would always have an open roof with an air space ;)

Since the ceiling height is 3m (about 2.80m after subtracting the underfloor heating, etc.) and there is a south-facing terrace, we hope for plenty of sunlight. We get light from three sides: kitchen, terrace, and the window in the living room.

We didn't want an open roof because we wanted as much storage space as possible, also in the attic, and with about 2.65m you can already make something out of it.

Do you perhaps have a suggestion on how one could gain some brightness/light without much effort?

Partial waiver of the storage space in the roof ([Speicher nicht über volle Fläche]) and glass extended into the roof. Keep shading in mind for the hot days. However, like many of my suggestions, it is not cheap.

I meant rather simple and not expensive solutions like an additional window, for example :cool:

You do "save" at least part of the ceiling, you have to take that into account :D
