It's not about the pillars, it's about the walls between the pillars.
At first glance it just looks wrong because that's not how you normally build walls.
If you like it, that's fine. If it doesn't hold up, you have a warranty. But since there are already several properties with it, it must work.

It will definitely hold. They are hollow inside and concrete is poured in. So they are not only built from the outside but also inside.

I believe they are also "just" plugged together, right? Like Lego? And then filled.

It is just a wall base, and will probably last forever. The advantage of this masonry is, if someone drives into it, not the entire structure needs to be replaced, but only individual stacks, making it easier to repair. Just a thought.

Yes. Exactly. Two covers are loose for the wiring. I will take a photo of the inside today and send it.

is in this case actually purely about appearance. Just saves on cutting waste.
