Does anyone have experience with ring trench collectors and rain cisterns?

I am especially surprised that the rain cistern is supposed to be buried so far from the house.

Do you really need a cistern? I don't think much of it if you don't have to have one. Especially in the Märkischer Sand, you can also let rainwater seep away. It's not suitable for watering on a property like yours. You won't have enough of it for long. And if you need water, none will come in either.

We don’t have to, but we want to. It’s 10m3 and with a bungalow and a large roof area, quite a bit collects. Besides, in summer there will certainly be a ban on using drinking water for the garden here. Economically, it surely is not.

If there is a ban on using drinking water for the garden, your cistern will also be empty. With 10 m3 you get by 2 to 3 days if you are very economical. And then?
The economical alternative would be your own well.

Not here. For that, you would have to drill about 100m deep, besides we are in a water protection area.

And better to water for 3 days longer than not at all or with drinking water.

correct. I have "buried" an 8 m³ cistern next to our house. Well, our property is only 700 m² in size. We got through the summer really well. It was only "almost" empty once. One good downpour and it's full again immediately. We also connected all roof connections, carport, and front paved areas. That quickly adds up. It stands about 3 meters from the house. It was perfectly manageable to install it from the street. I would always do it again. :) Since we also built in a water protection area, we unfortunately could not carry out any ground drilling or well drilling. So unfortunately, only the air heat pump remained. I might have liked to install trench collectors as well. But my wife didn’t want to get involved with that. Besides, the property wouldn’t have been suitable, and she wouldn’t have been able to plant her trees anymore.
