Does anyone have any idea if it is possible to build the roof box differently than with wood? I have read something about panels and plaster. It's about whether one can affect the price a bit.

Actually, people no longer use wood for that but plastic. It is possible otherwise, but I doubt it will be cheaper.

Isn't that just dark lacquered? We would like the roof box to be a bit different. That means the slats should be arranged crosswise instead of lengthwise. Additional cost about 500 €. But we'll see if there are other options.
