My thoughts on the floor were as follows:
I want a relatively scratch-resistant floor on the ground floor that is not slippery for my dog, easy to clean, and durable.
I know that there are quite good solutions for transitions between, for example, wooden floors and tiles. But I didn’t like them.
I find many tiles super ugly, especially if they were to be laid throughout the entire ground floor.
So I decided on (here many strongly opposed) tiles in a wood look, in a gray tone.
Because of the wood look, dirt is not as quickly visible as on single-colored tiles.
Cleaning is not our biggest hobby (but we also don’t like it dirty ^^), so a robot vacuum cleaner is planned.
Upstairs, there will be solid spruce wood floorboards – some people reject this because of underfloor heating, but we have found a good solution for ourselves.
No street shoes are to be worn throughout the entire house.
In winter, we wear socks or slippers because we find only around 20, 21 degrees comfortable, and the feet can get cold otherwise.
In summer, I find tiles very pleasant.
Therefore, this was the right choice for us.
