yep, my desire for underfloor heating in the shower was unfortunately also rejected back then with the same argument.

That is taken care of by the tiler working with the general contractor. Master of his craft and a one-man show :-)

Which of course is nonsense. You simply leave out one layer, or 3-4cm of styrofoam insulation in this area. And then you won’t have cold feet when you jump into the shower.

Maybe there are solutions for that. I think they used some kind of "pre-sloped" system or something like that. It was a huge sanitary company and either you follow their scheme or not. They were as flexible as a crowbar...

I also had problems with the delineation of the trades and the subsequent warranty.

Underfloor heating: heating engineer
Screed: screed layer
Shower including slope and screed underneath: tiler.

The general contractor completely resisted because the delineations were no longer clearly traceable.

Didn't they all come from the general contractor? And yes, it's the same with us. The tiler also does the connection (screed) to the front door, as the front door was delivered late.
