The kitchen is coming. Despite all precautions and laying down protective covers, they managed to make the first scratches in our floor within the first 2 hours. The kitchen installers said it was the plumbers – they had set the dishwasher connections 6 cm too high during the shell construction, so it didn’t fit in the end. Now they had to quickly chisel out some wall in a rush and replace the two angle valves with this interesting construction shown in photo 3.
I can deal with the scratches in the floor somewhat, it can definitely be repaired somehow – besides, it won’t be avoidable anyway. People will be living there soon, with kids, so a little patina will come faster than you can say "oops." I’m just afraid to tell our site manager. He will surely be angry – he even said explicitly on the phone, "they should lay something down on the floor" and "they should be careful."
