Ermahgerd - I already love it. I was so unsure about the floor because we basically only had the choice "that one or vinyl - everything else is more expensive." And we just said after looking at 3 floorboards "yep, we'll take it." Seeing it laid out for the first time now - wow.

Yesterday was the 4th appointment at the house with the broadband provider.

Appointment 1: no one showed up, call: technician is delayed, asking if we could come back 3 hours later.
Appointment 2: 3 hours later: waited 1.5 hours with baby at the construction site. No one comes, no one reachable by phone anymore (after 7 pm). Googled, called the boss's number from the imprint - he sorted it out. Turned out the technician had a breakdown and was waiting for ADAC. He wanted to call us earlier but had no contact details and the office was already unstaffed.
Appointment 3: technicians arrived on time. Tried to blow cables through, had no air. Turned out: the empty conduit is indeed in the utility room, but on the other side it was not connected from the curb to the distribution box. o_O They said this needed to be clarified and that they would call us back.
And unexpectedly - they actually called us on Friday - to ask if we could come to the construction site Saturday for the technician.
Appointment 4: we arrive at the agreed time at the construction site - our floor layer informs us: technicians had already been there, wanted to "do something but it didn't work because they had no air - left again". At that point I was slowly boiling.
Called the "boss from the imprint" again - this time it was someone else who asked me where I got the number, he was not responsible. I said we had an appointment with them, standing at the construction site and no one showed up. He said he would sort it out. Prompt callback from the technician (by the way the same one from appointment 3): "We were already there!" - Me: "Yes, but we weren’t?? We are HERE NOW, at the time we were told." - "Oh, sorry ... yes we were there, but we had no air, the civil engineer has to come back." Me: "So the same problem as last week?" ... "Hmm, yes kind of. Can you do Monday? We'll come again Monday." - Me: "What time on Monday? And won’t we have the same problem again on Monday as last week and today?" - "No no, on Monday we have the civil engineer with us. We'll schedule the appointment, I don't know the time yet - I will call you."

So it remains exciting. o_O

Honestly, if I worked like this I would have been fired a long time ago. :D

I was told something similar. When I called around 1 p.m. to ask if they knew the appointment time, I got a "In our system it says 12-2 p.m., the client is on site." The paramedics/heating technicians were then let in.

I don't care anymore, as long as the cable is laid.

I signed up especially to virtually stop by your [Haus] :)

I'm very happy that everything is going so well and sorry for the two weeks delay. Especially when you struggle for so long to FINALLY be able to move, two weeks is a long time.

I definitely wish you all the best for the final sprint!

It's moving forward. I have to post the beautiful parquet floor again. I think it looks wonderfully natural, considering it's rather inexpensive.

There was a bit of chaos in a few spots. :D When I came in on Saturday, the floor installer was just laying parquet in the utility room. I said that tiles were actually supposed to go there. I mean, it does look nice. :D When he asked "Is that a problem?" I was only thinking about the moisture, but we have exhaust ventilation in that room, so I hope it won't cause any issues.
We also hang laundry there, but rarely soaking wet. I hope the floor can handle it.
And during the process, we also overlooked that it uses a lot of square meters that weren't planned. Well, when I saw it, it was pretty much too late; the floor is glued down.

It'll work out somehow.
