He seems to assume that it will improve. At least on Tuesday, he said he would like to give the floor 2 more weeks before they lay it. That would be about 4-5 weeks in total. He said he would do the corner where the kitchen is to be installed first, then at the end of July, so that we don't have to reschedule the appointment. He said it’s not so bad because no baseboards will be installed directly there and potentially any escaping moisture can still rise at the edges. The rest of the floor will be laid a little later. Now being discussed is moving at the end of August instead of the beginning of August.

I had rather interpreted his explanation to mean that trying to force the drying success by "brute force" would even be counterproductive (which I "believe based on reason," but despite fifty years of watching mouse, "know-how," and Quarks, also cannot "explain").

Let's continue. After communication was a bit stuck in recent weeks, and not much happened on the construction site either, the tiling work is now continuing. I have to be patient, our site manager usually has more work than is healthy. A few days ago I followed up again on the status / schedule, and got a partial invoice "after readiness for occupancy" by email as a reply. :D Normally, I've seen too many episodes of "botched construction" to pay partial installments early, but I think an exception can be made here. So far, he has not broken any agreements. And he has all the materials we still need in stock, most of which are already paid for, so I can understand that.

The move is planned for the end of August, that's our "interior finished" deadline. He immediately said that he can't plaster outside in this weather, even if he could get people for it. Too hot. We drowned our frustration over the postponed move in a snap decision with a holiday home in southern England. That way we also solved the problem of not having to endure 4 weeks in this dump without a garden with the little one and no kindergarten. =) The beach has sand, and sand always works.

And this is how the room looked in the afternoon. I’m always fascinated by how quickly professionals do something like this. Maybe I’ll try it myself in the garage sometime.

Do it. With a system like that, you can manage it too.

Is that the living space/kitchen where the tiles are currently laid? Is it the 60 format?
