Hi,

No, 30-33 cents is the normal price for new contracts at the moment. And WP electricity is even supposed to be capped at 28 cents. I can't predict the future, but I guess that the electricity price level will decrease somewhat again in the medium term. That's why I personally consider 40 cents to be too high. But who will be right afterwards? Let's talk about it again in 10 years!

Best regards,

Andreas

I recently did a comparison, and in our region I can't get below the 40 cap for green electricity. That would be important to me. I'm also rather skeptical about the price. Maybe it will go down somewhat in the medium term, but I don't think we can manage the transition to renewables that lies ahead without it affecting the price. But that’s crystal ball stuff, as you say, everyone makes their own predictions. As far as I know, we don't get a separate meter for WP electricity, but I'm not sure about that. Honestly, I don't really want one either. In the past, it has rarely paid off and has been a huge hassle with the billing because the suppliers don’t get it. At least that has happened in our area and is extremely annoying.

I think you are actually predestined for photovoltaics, also with storage. You work from home, have a heat pump, have an energy-demanding hobby with the gaming PCs, and also want to have an electric car. Because of working from home, you can manage the charging well. With the heat pump and your hobby, you need electricity even in the dark. And, like you, I find the offered price definitely in the lower middle range. It is completely inclusive of installation and all services. And the storage price is also below the average price level.

In general, I would probably assume a 10-year amortization here and would not perform a strict pure financial return calculation. Therefore, I would also not assume a 3% interest yield for the saved money, since alternatively, you would then have a garage door. And you can get along perfectly well without a garage door; I have for over 10 years. And since your garage is really for the cars, because you should have enough storage space elsewhere, the garage does not necessarily have to be closed for security reasons.

And ultimately, I consider such a system to be a good contribution to the energy situation; together with the storage, you would also do something for grid stability on your part.

Yes, you raise an important point. We are also trying a bit to justify the storage economically because we would like to have it for ideological reasons. The several tons of saved CO2 smiling at us in the offer also appeal to us. I just wonder whether the storage should be dimensioned a little smaller. I doubt that we can fully charge it beyond the summer with the photovoltaic electricity if we also pump 20-40 kWh per week into the car. For that, we would also like to use the photovoltaic electricity. In everyday life, it is not important to us that the car is always fully charged. We rather need it for short trips. It has a 50 kW battery but can only charge AC at 6.6.

You don't always drive empty and refuel once a week. If you recharge every evening, then this can usually be done from the storage. You can already check the electricity futures on the EEX exchange. In the next few years around 10ct for pure electricity again. That is more than before Corona (especially percentage-wise), but far from a catastrophe. With 40ct I wouldn't do the WiRe. Still one of the less stupid ways to spend money. I would definitely get the storage, as offered, in that size. Just do it. But why isn't the SW side fully packed? I would also fully utilize the roof there.

Hopefully, no one ever calculates how many man-years of cheerful diesel soot would have been equivalent to the ecological footprint of a single sunken freighter full of electric cars. The end of the world really doesn't come from the fact that one of my grandfathers was a master butcher ;-)
