I also have a little update. Since yesterday, the top coat plaster is on. We looked at these sheets for an unbelievably long and annoying 3 months. You don't really imagine it like that, but it is really oppressive in the long run. And at night you constantly feel like "someone is at the window" because they move in the wind. So annoying. But I can't blame the guys either because it has basically been raining continuously since mid-October. I've rarely experienced weather like this.
When the first frost came, I started cutting off the first sheets on my own because I thought it wouldn't work out this year anyway. Not even 2 weeks later, it got mild again and FINALLY somewhat dry – and then unexpectedly the plasterers showed up at the door and taped everything back up. :D On the one hand, I'm glad when we're finished. On the other hand, I can think of a cooler time to have completely covered windows than the pre-Christmas season. But I warned them yesterday that we are getting visitors from Australia at the end of the week, and we hired an expensive photographer to come to our house the week after, and I will cut everything open again at the latest over the weekend. I offered them to tape it up again if they let me know before they come. But I definitely won't look at this anymore over Christmas. Such a visit only happens once every few years, I don't want to see ugly, plaster- and blood-smeared sheets in the background of every photo. The boss also immediately said (besides "when is the visit? Oh dear. You're killing me..." :D), that they might come and paint by the end of the week. Once it's painted, it's done, the thing. =)
Merry Christmas season to you all. =)
