If the window frames are white on the outside, what plaster color do you have in mind for that?
That’s also a good question. I don’t have many concrete ideas yet. Probably something light as well, maybe a light beige, a light reed green, or "greige" or something like that.
I’d like the entire look to lean as close as possible to a country house style.
My problem is that my old house in northern Germany was exactly my style visually: nice country house style and cozy.
But no one here could build it like that for me, and besides, it would stick out like a sore thumb in this building area with very neutral city villas.
I don’t like modern buildings, these city villas with anthracite windows, not at all. I don’t think I would put any of the houses in my new development there. Apparently, I have a very specific taste.
Now I’m looking for a compromise, how to make the outside of our house somewhat resemble a country house, even if it isn’t one.
For comparison, here is our old house (which I liked), and the plans of the front view of our new one (which I have to come to terms with). :)
Edit: This is a bit misleading; the floor-to-ceiling window was actually replaced with one identical to the two on the outside, so 3x the same width and height.
I wouldn’t choose frosted windows, but rather a window instead of a door. I find that with frosted windows you somehow feel shut off, even if it’s only for a short time in the bathroom.
Yes, that is the hardest decision at the moment. So it should definitely remain floor-to-ceiling and a door. Also for symmetry reasons of the facade, and I find it really quite practical. But frosted glass is really not my thing. I do see the disadvantages of clear glass, however.
