I can understand that. Especially since with a temporary apartment you basically look forward to just _one date_.

Make the best of it... it’s only 2-3 weeks!

What surprises me a bit - the screed has been in for almost 3 months. It was laid in mid-April. Everywhere on the internet it says that the drying phase of screed until it is ready for covering can take "up to 4 weeks, sometimes even a few days longer." We've had it in for 12 weeks already. o.O

Is it normal for it to take that long to dry? The screed program of the underfloor heating has been completed.

Actually unusual ... Has the parquet installer done any dry tests now? They drill into the screed somewhere defined or something like that.

It was the same for us! Screed one day before Ascension Day (so sometime in May) and when the tiler wanted to start in August, he looked pretty dumbfounded during his routine inspection measurement. The screed was still much too damp. We set up four dehumidifiers that ran day and night. Several liters collected every few hours. We dried until October... The moisture level for tiling should be at 1.8% and in some places it was over 3%. In summer, screed doesn't dry well due to the high humidity.

I once read that if the surface dries too quickly, the remaining water inside has no way to penetrate outward and then evaporate (or something like that). The dried surface then allows nothing to pass through. This causes a drying backlog.

I believe this is primarily a problem with anhydrite, as a layer forms on top of the screed. However, it can be sanded down, then the moisture should come out better. Do you have hygrometers? What is the humidity inside and what is it outside?
