Howdy friends and companions

We haven't been on the forum for a while because we were roaming around Cornwall.
Now we are back and will be moving in 3 days.

We were at the house today to see what has happened – I was in contact with the BU by phone and he said everything is in the final stages, and he didn't overpromise. There is still a door missing that was forgotten during the measurement (but only in the basement area), a few skirting boards here and there, the washbasins – because he wanted to look again with us at how/where exactly they should be hung – and the bathtub faucet, since it arrived damaged from the wholesaler.

Outside, of course, a lot is still missing, but we can move in for now.

Here are a few pictures from today.
More photos, including the more exciting ones, will follow after the move =)
We really like the entrance area with the mosaic decor. But currently, I can't photograph it well because there are still stuff/packaging on it.
The transition from stairs to parquet looks a bit strange at the moment. But it looks much better when the cardboard is removed from the actual stairs below. Then the top step doesn’t look so "lost" among other wood colors.

And the best for last: Internet works. 180 down, 90 up, 9 ping on the phone via Wi-Fi.

How great , I'm happy for you that you'll be inside very soon!

and the few little things will be done quickly, that's almost perfect!

If the first step still bothers you later, you can possibly replace it with parquet.
but it certainly looks different when the staircase is completely exposed, then you can visually recognize the start of the stairs immediately.

That reads like a perfect landing including the Internet, which you felt like you chased after for weeks. I wish you a stress-free move-in

Thank you.
Yes, the internet situation is really a huge weight off our minds. We spent a year dealing with mediocre mobile internet. LTE, but only one single cell tower at too great a distance. The worst was when we had a complete network outage for 12 days while my husband and I both had to work. We then switched to D-network, but the tower is even further away there. Although the network was stable, it was extremely slow. Video calls were hardly possible. It was already embarrassing for us, but the employers were understanding.
In the long run, I don’t want to have to compromise like that. I’m glad that LTE is now only the emergency fallback.

Otherwise, last night (yes, Sunday  ) the builder called me regarding the status and what is still happening. And asked how the cleaning situation looks. I had kind of written it off. My plan was to mop the floors, move in, and then clean everything. But he said he can arrange something for us. His wife does that sort of thing, or the ladies from the interior outfitter. I initially had concerns — I told him that — because we also booked a final construction cleaning for the first house (but a company through MyHammer), and in the end I paid over €300 and it still wasn’t clean. And I had stains all over the kitchen fronts even though I told them to skip those. The company had many excuses — the employee was new, etc. So I basically didn’t want to do that again.
But my builder said if his people do it, it would be clean afterwards. I then talked to my husband and we agreed to it. It also relieves stress. Price wise, he said €400-500.
I think you can’t complain about that, for 270 m² of space including window cleaning.

Yes, that’s great! Definitely go for it. You have enough to do with the move, etc., plus the baby in tow. As good as the BU is, he won’t say anything wrong regarding the cleaning service.

Otherwise, again really beautiful photos. I’m repeating myself, but it just looks super good already!

Including windows = final cleaning for the course? Have it done and enjoy your free time!

Otherwise, good luck! You probably don't need any luck anymore.
