That's true, which is why I'm glad that we have a slope rising from the street...
But you can also solve the problem with a balcony and stairs from the balcony to the garden and maybe install an outdoor kitchen....

Actually, a window was added at the bottom of the garage tower. :D We just discussed that at the construction site the day before yesterday.
The rest is indeed due to the hillside location. The door on the upper floor doesn't really bother me. The long paths from the garage to the kitchen bother me more. Well, it's basically just one staircase, and since we currently have the kitchen on the 2nd floor, my husband is still looking forward to the new house. He thinks "one staircase down" is much easier to manage than "two staircases up." ;)

You did a good job. As a pure storage room, this space is too good anyway :)

Caution: Carrying things "downstairs" has a fairly high risk of accidents. It becomes problematic at a certain age. I would install some kind of freight elevator from the garage to the lower room, which you have now given a window.

In this case, the sloping hillside would probably also lead to a (partial) sleeping level on the ground floor, since many agree that they want the terrace by the kitchen to be in the garden (not on the street).

Congratulations on the second start of construction. The two pointed roofs in the renderings somehow remind me of a little castle ;)
