It is pretty full. Do you mean the street side? The small one also has a hip roof, and the large one has a small bay window there, so you can’t put more on it. See:

Yes, you might be right there. If I extrapolate your coverage with my mini balcony power plant experience, around 200 to 250 kWh should be usable in months like December/January* as a low point. Maybe a 6 to 8 kWh storage would be more sensible. To my knowledge, storage batteries should ideally never be fully discharged and should not be constantly 100% full. And, as I said, you can well control charging your car as a balancing measure. Maybe talk to the solar installer again. Also about how it would be if you start with, for example, a 6 kWh storage and then want to upgrade later because you then have a better overview of yield and usage.

In any case, I think the opportunity should be taken.

*EDIT: November and February were already almost twice as good in yield as December/January this season.

I already had photovoltaic on the first house, albeit only a smaller one. I’m annoyed that I didn’t somehow save the exact data. It would be useful right now to have on hand how many kW come from the roof in spring/autumn in the morning, at noon, or in the afternoon. If with the 12 kWp system we rarely exceed 6 kW, then pure surplus charging into the car battery would probably make more sense than the storage. Or rather, the car would then be the storage. Although we don’t drain the car that much every day. It’s all quite complicated and fishing in murky waters.

6 kW per day ... no, you will harvest much more ... ok, maybe only in December/January.

Just my data from November (since 11/14) until today ... so you can estimate the conditions. As you can see, it was almost 3 times as much in February as in January.

In the purple frame is the house location with roof terrace, where the 2 thick lines mark my two modules. The modules have 0.82 kWp and I have a 600 W inverter.

No, I don't mean per day. I mean this display that you can see "live" in the apps, for example, how much is coming in at a specific time X. Because our car AC can charge with a maximum of 6.6 kW.
With our old system (4.55 kWp) for example, on a sunny day in June, about 3-3.5 kW came in around midday. But of course not continuously. It follows a curve. However, the system was significantly smaller, mounted at a completely different tilt angle, and was also throttled to 70%.

Another little status update on our little house. =)

The big "wallbox" in the carport is finished. Next to it will be the small wallbox. In the big one, pipes for the controlled living space ventilation run through.
We are considering accepting the offer for the photovoltaics & co. Otherwise, nothing more will be upgraded, but investing the buffer into photovoltaics makes more sense than into aesthetics – at least it pays off. ;)

The shower drain is installed. They have since cut more styrofoam around it. To put it in my girlfriend's words: "I didn’t know there was styrofoam inside a shower."

The pre-walls are now closed in the bathroom and WC.

We almost would have had this angled pipe in the living room too – that was my mistake, it didn’t show up in the planning documents. Both the builder and my husband didn’t care about the look at all. But I was picky and did NOT want such an angled corner RIGHT in the middle of the living room. I almost despairs when I saw it on site during construction. But the builder fixed it. He recessed the drywall by the thickness of the pipe. Behind it the AC also runs into the house. It was insulated again where the breakthrough is. It is attached like everywhere else on the ceilings with these metal rails.

Now I have a straight wall there, exactly as I wished. I of course had to bear the costs for that, which will run about 500€ for material. I don’t know if that’s cheap or expensive, but I’m glad it could be changed on such short notice at all.

View from the kitchen.

Only 2-3 months left, probably. We can hardly wait. Hopefully, the little one will take her first steps here in this living room.
