Pax is not suitable for sloping ceilings.

No, we only have that with things that have been untouched in the cabinet for three years.

So far I think the drawers are great. They are easy to assemble – but with 18 pieces it does get boring at some point :D – and in my opinion they roll very well. I can’t say anything about their durability yet. However, my other Ivar parts are already many years old and so far flawless. They are not very tall, which should be taken into account. I have a few Hemnes chests of drawers, the drawers are all considerably higher, so correspondingly more fits inside. For us with clothing, I think they are good in height.

Ditto. If I were swimming in money, I would have just had the dressing room and the wardrobe custom-made by a carpenter. But the IVAR stuff was appealing because it’s really cheap for such a big, deep solid wood cabinet. We furnished our dressing room with it, both kids’ rooms, and (30 cm deep) the pantry. I like everything very much both visually and practically. “More” was not possible financially, but we also like it visually, I think we’ll leave it like this for now.

I haven’t had any problems with dust so far. I previously had a PAX for 12 years, but I can’t say that I often closed those eternally heavy sliding doors. :D

I have the Ivar drawers. The block with three drawers. They still work perfectly after several years. However, because of the solid wood parts, they lose quite a bit of space inside. I find them smaller than expected.
Were the clothes rails still available for purchase or did you already have them? They are out of the range here and are in great demand.

Even if I had money, I wouldn’t want much else than an Ivar construction. It always looks good, doesn’t bother, feels good, and is versatile. What more could you want?

I think I am a major Ivar customer. I have a total of 15 cabinets with 50cm depth and 2 with 30cm depth, plus two drawer blocks and a bunch of shelves. But not just for the wardrobe, but for everything overall.

Kati, your house looks great! I have a very different taste and would have designed some things differently. Still, it looks very inviting and really great! :) Cozy, harmonious, not exaggerated, but "tailored to human scale." I always find that very likeable.

The IVAR drawers are no longer "3-blocks," it's a coincidence that we always took 3. By now, they can be bought individually. The clothes rail is officially not found in the planner (?), but I was able to order it online. I believe they were once out of the range and are now available again. Here in Kaiserslautern, they are also in stock. I previously had a small IVAR combination with doors, which has now moved to the utility room as storage. Newly added are 3 wardrobes and the pantry - for that, the shelves are perfect. I used to have some in the basement/shed, but unfortunately they fell victim to moisture in the transition house, everything rotted, so we have to dispose of them.

We bought our clothes rails and brackets at the hardware store. We have half-height and full-height units, also 50 cm wide ones in between, resulting in many compartments. We have a "hole" in the corner, but so what. I screwed hooks onto the side panels at the front, so I can easily hang clothes on hangers for the next day. Somehow I also like our setup. What I keep noticing: the chamber of about under 6 sqm with a sloping roof has about 4 sqm in the middle to stand, dress, and move around, so plenty of space… more than what is always planned here in the forum as a static corridor. I really find the house beautifully done. But I was also very convinced by the floor plan (slope and living downstairs), and there are nice sightlines. However, I have a different style - mine would be much cleaner ;) I congratulate you on moving into the beautiful house, :D

Thank you very much. We are very happy with it.
I notice this in 2 ways: Normally, after moving, I always need some time to settle in before I feel really comfortable. Here, I already feel more at home than in our first building after 2 years. Probably also because I feel at home in the region.
And secondly: Everything comes together. Unpacking and setting up is a lot of fun because everything was planned exactly as we need it, everything has its place, and I’m even looking forward to clearing out and organizing the basement.
It’s nice, we feel comfortable, and I’m also the type who enjoys living in a home. If that makes sense. I know many people who don’t care as much. Who wouldn’t spend money on nicer bedding or decorative things or even more storage jars from IKEA.
But for me, living is somehow also a hobby. Pouring muesli into a jar is fun for me.

What’s still pending is the exterior plaster and some work on the outdoor area. But it’s still open when that will be done. Probably plastering soon, at least this week insulation (no idea for what) and bags with - I assume - plaster were delivered.
Inside, there are still a few minor issues. One toilet and one siphon seem to be leaking somehow. The bathroom window got some deep scratches during the construction phase. Nothing urgent.
I haven’t heard from the builder for a few days now, but that’s okay. He really worked hard and many people were here on Saturdays or sometimes even evenings until half past nine so we could meet our move-in date. Other projects, which have significantly more money attached to them than our single-family house, suffered from that. Therefore, I assume that the other construction site now has priority for the time being.

In other news: Today was our first day off-grid.
Although the weather was lousy today, we used very little, and the yield was just enough to supply us and fully charge the battery. Perfect timing.
I am very satisfied with the sizing of the photovoltaic system (suggested by the electrician). For September we could have used just one more storage module. In the mornings we always buy between 1-4 kWh from the grid.
We’re curious about winter.
