Do you need all the baskets in the Boaxel combination? I would also suggest adding a hanging rod for longer items .. e.g. jeans, etc. And perhaps a fold-down grid for small items. I don’t know how you do it, but I always use just the smoothing function on my dryer program for all the laundry that needs ironing, with about 4 items, and then hang these items smoothed out again to dry. This saves ironing for 80% of all laundry. Where would you actually do that?

And wouldn’t there be space in the kitchen unit on the left, that is, at the bottom of the plan from the sink, for a 60 cm tall cabinet for mops, vacuum cleaner, etc.? Maybe after the 80 cm base cabinet just a side panel of the tall cabinet and then a rod with a curtain to the wall or a blind?

Two thoughts on this:

If the cleaning supplies are then further away, will it bother you to get them from there when you, for example, clean the bathroom right next to the utility room? They might end up moving into the utility room after all because it’s more practical.

The Boaxel idea is not bad, but it would be too open/uncluttered for me in the long run. The height of the drawers would also be too low for dirty laundry. It is usually just thrown in rather than laid flat. I think there might be better systems for that.

A completely different idea:
The wall with the washer/dryer as a complete cabinet wall, the machines on a pedestal, laundry baskets pull-out and hidden under the pedestal. Cabinets next to and above the machines for storage, all nicely tucked away behind doors. Opposite, where you currently planned the Boaxel, a kitchenette with space for folding laundry and putting things down.

I sort quite elaborately beforehand, I think no one really understands my system. But that's how it is when you've been doing something for 20 years. It's hard to break old habits when they work well. ;) Accordingly, I definitely need at least 6 sorting containers. As an alternative to the baskets from the combination, I had also thought about inserting shelves there and putting 6 laundry baskets on them. Visually, I find that not so "clean" anymore, but laundry baskets are always a good indicator of the quantity. Based on the basket, I can tell well how much fits into the machine.
Fold-down grid? I have to look that up, I've never seen that before. The tip about the ironing laundry is good with the smoothing program. I usually use the "full blast" program on my dryer mostly for towels & co, or a cold short program to make very stiff laundry "skin-friendly."

I have to admit, I really don’t iron at all. :)
The few shirts my husband wears a couple of times a year for occasions are either tight enough that they smooth out sufficiently by proper shaking/hanging and body heat, and suits or the really fine shirt I would then take to the cleaner.
I had an ironing board for years that gathered dust. I sold it on classifieds in 2020 before moving. If I ever have to iron more often in the future, I plan to do it the way my grandma did. She had such ironing pads and simply ironed on the kitchen table. I would then lay it out on the countertop in the utility room.

I’m not quite sure what you mean – do you mean in the row on the side of the door?
Unfortunately, that doesn’t fit, a 60 cm cabinet will likely just barely not fit. 50 cm might work, but I’d prefer the whole line flat. We also had a socket installed there; stuff like my laundry room Alexa for music and the odd charger is planned there. The space for cleaning stuff is no problem either, we have a lot of storage space in the house. I just wonder if it’s an organizational problem not to store these things in the same room as the laundry/washing supplies.

I was thinking of possibly storing some items like a few cloths / cleaning sprays twice, so to have something for a "quick wipe and away" also in the utility room.
The bigger items like the vacuum cleaner, mop, etc. actually don’t matter much as to where they’re stored. We have a housekeeper who gathers her things when she starts and then puts them away afterwards. That’s done quickly; if I do it myself, I could probably manage that once a week like that.

If you have an alternative system tip, feel free to share it. I am currently really searching. I also don’t really like the very open look of the Boaxel.
The height of the drawers is variable, it could still be extended if it doesn’t fit. They are meant to be hooked in. I had a similar sorting system in the old house with almost identical baskets (just inside the Pax) and got along very well with it. When the baskets were so full that you had to stuff, it was time to start the machine with laundry anyway.

I think that will be too expensive for us in the first step. We have to furnish so many things new in the new house that we can’t plan a budget yet for such bigger purchases (like a unit that would have to be custom fitted). The advantage of the Boaxel is that in the version above it costs just around €350. I wouldn’t want to invest a four-figure sum in the utility room right now.
The kitchen unit currently planned there (the low one) we already have, we can move it over from our current apartment, so it costs us nothing.
A pedestal is just not my thing at all with washing machines, and I need at least 6-8 baskets / sorting containers, which would not all fit under the pedestal. But that could certainly be solved with a tall wall.

;) I lied ;) .. I don't iron anymore either ;). The smoothing really works well. The prerequisite is that as soon as the washing machine is done, you grab the clothes, shake them out properly and then, as I said, always put about 4 items in for smoothing. They steam up a lot, then quickly onto the hanger, smooth out again.

I organized my wardrobe so that everything is hung up, no folded t-shirts lying around or anything.

Fold-down grids .. what I actually meant are the ones you have on the left in the Boaxel combination ... could be trouser grids. But they should also be good.

I can well understand that you (at least initially) are looking for an inexpensive solution. Unfortunately, the only systems that come to mind are expensive ones from kitchen studios and such. I’ve also seen a combination with Trofast before, but I actually find Boaxel nicer because everything is seamless. I just find it crazy how many baskets you use :D but that’s individual, depending on how you organize the laundry. Then the baskets are of course also less full than if the same amount was distributed over 2-3 baskets.

Otherwise, you just answered your own question about whether it’s practical with the cleaning supplies :) I also have it that way myself, with 1-2 bottles in the guest bathroom and main bathroom each, and the rest of the cleaning supplies etc. stored in the utility room on the ground floor. I can then quickly get to them when I clean the bathroom. If everything is cleaned all at once anyway, the location really doesn’t matter, I think. Because you gather everything together once and then take it with you through the house.
