But which homeowner cares about the safety of the craftsman?
The main thing is they don’t have to vacuum.

When I moved, I would never have thought that the guys would have to take off their shoes every time.
I laid down boards outside that I had from the door deliveries as packaging... but if it had rained, they would have just walked in with wet shoes.
Like always?

Hope you come across a craftsman who just packs up his stuff and leaves. Let the penny-pinching owner repair the heating himself...

The question is always where to. Going through the front door and directly into the technical room is not so bad, it's all tiles there and they can be wiped clean easily. And in the entrance area I almost have to vacuum every day anyway. But if someone has to go into the living room or upstairs, then I expect that they don't walk over the wooden staircase or ruin the new parquet with dirty shoes and little stones stuck in the soles.

During the move, we will cover the walking paths with painter's fleece. Otherwise, footwear is of course planned. Afterward, cleaning is necessary anyway; besides, it wouldn't be feasible to take off shoes every time the items are carried in. That would take twice as long.

OK, for me this is slowly drifting into the absurd. I would never ask a craftsman to take off his shoes - occupational safety and a solid footing take precedence in all activities. Then the sacred parquet floor has to be cleaned once.

When will we see something again?

For this, two teams are used. One carries the items up to the entrance area, the other distributes them inside the house.

Moving is something different anyway, at least for me. Afterwards, it’s clear that you have to clean anyway. Meanwhile, there are also enough craft companies that equip their employees with shoe covers on their own and use them on their own.
