Why do the pipes behind the heat pump curve upwards? Shouldn't they go down?

Upwards is what is stated in every example in the installation manual.

"Interesting" that the manufacturer draws it like this in the manual. The floor facing upwards ultimately ensures that any water (rain + condensate) runs onto and into the house wall instead of dripping down at the lowest point of the curve.

No more than any other conduit that is routed through the wall and has a (slight) slope towards the wall. The installation must be carried out accordingly.

The area of the pipeline is still largely covered here as well. Behind the bend, there is also a section that is largely "straight" where it could still drip. But I think if it's drawn like that in the instructions, hopefully it can't be that bad. ^^

Hi,

If you're unlucky, that won't help you. Condensation can form there and then run right into your wall. The loop is necessary, but I would always make sure that the pipes rise in the last few centimeters before the wall. Otherwise, it goes wrong.

Best regards,

Andreas
