The ground slab on the ground floor is done, but heating circuits, insulation, and screed still need to be added on top. Kitchen wastewater and water can be easily routed from the wall over there. In the other forum, there are also example pictures from other construction projects in my albums.
Okay, good to know that’s still possible.
But as I said, we actually don’t want to do that. My husband is the cook in the family, and he really doesn’t like working or cooking with his back to the room / facing the wall. That’s why the cooktop in the island is basically fixed.
However, we are considering an alternative plan with a row and a peninsula along the entire kitchen length. Then we would put both the cooktop and the sink in the island. We had dismissed that because we thought it was too late. But maybe we can reconsider that.
Ikea has generally declined quite a bit. We recently bought a Malm dresser. If it hadn’t been on special offer and Ikea were closer, we would have returned it. So it just has to languish in the utility room.
I feel the same; we’ve been buying less and less from them in recent years. Their catalogs used to be like decorating bibles for me as a student, full of 1000 ideas on how to organize well. Today, they’re hardly interesting anymore.
Maybe I’ve just gotten too old for that. ^^
