But how would I start that? So especially the layer that sits in the ground, would I have to concrete that? Or would you just set it in loosely? At the first house, I edged beds with clinker bricks, I just buried them in the ground, but they didn't have to hold anything either.

Unfortunately, I don't have a slope, but we did the exits from the floor-to-ceiling windows like that. We made a small foundation underneath, about 30 deep. That's totally enough. Talk to your general contractor, you have a great relationship. He will surely tell you if you need to pay attention to anything else when shoring up the slope.

It certainly also depends on how steep the slope is or how much it is graded. In this respect, I would first get advice from someone who knows the conditions and nature of the property.

According to our garden landscaper, the posts or L-shaped stones on the slope must be set one-third in concrete. That is all too risky for me; with the first house, we did everything ourselves in the garden.

We will do that. He has already offered to do something in the outdoor area. He usually doesn’t take on such work anymore because he doesn’t really have time for landscaping anymore, and he said he doesn’t want to promise people something and then have no time for the job forever. But within the scope of the new build and since he has to bring the machines onto the property again anyway, he offered to definitely properly prepare the driveway. He said that would make sense so that you don’t end up doing the work twice if he only fills it in now.
And he could also pave the driveway, access path, and terrace for us. But what he roughly estimated for that is more than what we want to invest in those positions at first. Maybe we’ll just gravel the driveway initially. I’d rather put a bit more money into photovoltaics and a wallbox, so the outdoor area is once again coming off second best. :/

I already have the email to the general contractor prepared. But I want to send it only after Easter because I know he took a few days off during Easter. I don’t want to tempt him to take care of any work stuff then. =)

Would you perhaps have a picture of that? I think the idea is pretty great in my imagination :)

Thank you very much!

When we cleared the plot, we dug up granite stones and wanted to get rid of them on classifieds. Our builder said, keep them, they work great without a spirit level.
