Why don't construction prices go down?

Well, that's simply because those who are currently building or have recently built mostly still took advantage of the low interest rates. That made it easy... "1.2%? Come on, add another 25,000 EUR for a double garage, oh and 10,000 for a fireplace. 100 EUR more per month? Fine!"

I've never read here in the subforums:
"Have 4,000 EUR net, can we build 100m² without major special requests with that?"

Apparently, such people don't wander into a forum like this, for whatever reason.
On the golf course, if you discuss whether the equipment in the new Polo Trendline has a reasonable quality, you'll probably see rather puzzled faces.
And in the 5 Series forum, you're more likely to see the question of whether the 550d offers enough acceleration than someone wanting to know if a 516i makes sense or whether you can't get anywhere with it at all...

I would boldly claim that you are rather an exception. Most people are very attached to their houses. And when I look at how much we discussed with our electrician about the location of the power and LAN sockets... he was surprised that we wanted 2 LAN sockets in every children's room. Well, PC/console and a TV. Yes, that made sense to him then. Then we wanted sockets in funny corners. When we explained what for (socket at window height, above the couch backrest, ...), he was delighted. He would not have thought of that. Now we are happy with our ideas because they make life easier for us. That would not have been the case in the older used house.

The question is, would you be unhappy in an existing house with normal sockets? I don't think so, then you simply put a power strip on the windowsill for the Christmas lights. We definitely put significantly less thought into the sockets. The most intensive planning was done in the kitchen, the rest somehow works out. PS: the builders with 1% financing should be done by now, and even at those times not everyone had the possibility to afford everything ;)

A PS5 can do Wi-Fi, Telekom with Magenta can finally do Wi-Fi as well. Newer TVs can also do Wi-Fi nowadays. Toniebox, tablet, smartphone, and the laptop on the lap basically only connect via Wi-Fi...

I am already sure that the expensively purchased (170 EUR net each) data sockets in every room will never be used, at most the ones in the study, to extend the Wi-Fi upstairs.

So my little one loves his LAN connection. Ever since I enabled it for him a few weeks ago. Yeah yeah, Fortnite over Wi-Fi is no fun.

Got 2 girls, it’s more about reasonable speed for streaming in UHD than about ping ;)
