I doubt that the general public has problems finding a cleaning person.
After all, there is also the figure of 4 million employable citizens receiving Bürgergeld according to the statistics. I seriously wonder why the fresh food counter at Edeka is closed at noon due to staff shortages and why we no longer have table service at our café because there is no staff.
Seriously? I don’t care at all how qualified someone is. If the job is offered to them and they do not accept it (there are plenty of reasons not to do the job or to behave so badly in the interview that you are not hired in the first place), then there is simply no more money. These are underperformers not included in the statistics.
Duck and cover...
The 4 million statistically decrease quite quickly and then there is also the issue of rural/urban areas.
Of the approximately 5.5 million Bürgergeld recipients, 1.8 million are children and adolescents. Over 2 million are unavailable for work for other reasons – such as health problems or lack of childcare.
It will get interesting when all the mass layoffs by the corporations and the mid-sized businesses are included in the statistics in about two years. Then there should be no shortage of meat counter attendants.
