It is pleasant to read that. Even if we or anyone else feel bad(er) at some point, who, where, and when signed a contract at birth that they must feel this or that way or that they could have the same as anyone else at any time. Everyone gets their life in their time and may make something out of it; like here even with maximum possibilities. Compared to over 90% of the world, we are doing great and could just as well have been born in the Congo or anywhere else. This particular whining, which is increasingly heard nowadays, I find almost childish, as it means that someone else or some institution is always to blame for the complainer’s discomfort. A truly adult person would know that they themselves may and above all must shape their life. Only few from this whining corner come up with the idea to work on themselves and/or improve their own situation, and if they do eventually abandon it, they no longer complain but rejoice over their own development. Not long ago I remember the shouting "Merkel must go," after that it was Ricarda Lang, Scholz, the traffic light coalition anyway, and of course Habeck. The mentioned gentlemen including Lindner are mostly not sympathetic to me, but to believe that salvation is near as soon as one person is gone can only be believed by a person with a childish mind. Now the aforementioned may soon all be "gone," and then it should finally be great again, if I were to believe this shouting. Or does (maybe Merz) then also have to go again to let a mediocre history teacher take the helm? Will everything then be good? If such a simple solution existed, it would already be practiced successfully somewhere in this world. That is why my always unanswered question: 1: "Where is it so good"? 2: "And why don’t you go there and become the happiest person on earth from now on"?

I want politicians to spend their time ensuring that those who want to work are provided with a suitable job. Those who are eager to further their education should be given a good to very good training that does not depend on the situation (or status) of their family home. Those who come here out of necessity should be able to shape a safe, free, and yes, also productive life with integration and community, not with exclusion and isolation. There are also long-term and lasting positive effects in this. If we achieve full employment and no more integration problems, then one can concern oneself with the so-called total refusers, but I would not harass them; rather, I would take a look at what went wrong with them that they give up on themselves like this. Contrary to the widespread pessimistic human image and not only according to some neoliberals, it is not the normal state of a healthy psyche to prefer to scrape by on subsistence rather than provide for one's livelihood. It has been calculated several times that the approach against the so-called total refusers is pure eye-wash and complete symbolic politics. It does not bring the savings that the Union and FDP hope for. A YouTuber amusingly calculated that to compensate for around 6 billion euros in damages caused by mask suppliers—whom Spahn first flattered with purchase guarantees at exorbitant prices only to then defraud them of about half their orders—the 15-16k alleged idlers would have to have basic security completely cut for 29 years. At the same time, there are about 800k people willing to work who would gladly work (more) but cannot due to a lack of available jobs; in addition, there are millions who would gladly work (more) but cannot due to lack of childcare options, parental care responsibilities, non-extendable working hours, etc... Current studies also refute the anecdotally spread assumption that younger generations no longer want to work. On the contrary, the younger generations work on average even more than the Boomer generation. However, they set different priorities when choosing a job. And yes, work-life balance is part of it. For them, money is not so important, but rather what and why they work. Companies would do well to adapt their view of humanity and their work profiles. Because good and well-educated people can currently choose their employer, not the other way around.

Now the total refusal debate has arrived here too. Annoying. This "problem" is a deluxe smokescreen. A symbolic debate. How many of these are there? 20k? 25k? In any case, we can fundamentally describe the size as manageable.
- But if we wander around at the bottom thanks to the investment brake and produce 10k new unemployed every day, we have to tackle the total refusers.
- If we have significantly more migrants than total refusers who would work but are not allowed to because of us, we have to tackle the total refusers.
- If Trump and the Chinese WITH LOOOOOOONG ANNOUNCEMENT shred our economic model, we have to tackle the total refusers.
- If the German automotive industry WITH LOOOOONG ANNOUNCEMENT crashes headlong, we have to tackle the total refusers.

None of the relevant problems is even remotely solved then. But at least someone finally did something.

Not everything may have been "right" and the communication and public image were certainly at best suboptimal, but at least in the last three years there was an attempt to change something and to tackle the problem of reducing CO2 emissions. And that under the scourge of the war in Ukraine. I think Laschet and his associates at times thanked God on their knees every evening that they were not responsible. Now those are expected to come back to power who want everything to remain as it was in the (fictional) good old days. The changes will then simply be imposed on us from the outside, instead of us shaping them. Chance missed. We continue to cling to technologies of the past and innovation takes place elsewhere.

I was recently surprised for the first time by the thought of whether I should actually join the party that is apparently blamed for EVERYTHING that has ever gone wrong according to popular opinion...

Something like - the abrupt termination of the e-car subsidy - the failed heating law/building energy law - flop Intel Magdeburg for almost €10 billion - flop Thyssen with subsidies for green steel - flop climate protection contracts Habeck's economic policy, whom I personally consider one of the best Greens, has so far meant endless subsidies and no plan. Without any idea of what the market wants and needs, but rather driven by ideology. I am totally glad that Lindner exists, because he initiated new elections. Politically, a lot is good, but unfortunately not very social.

It gets even more absurd. At my children’s elementary school, now 3 out of 4 toilets are broken. The toilets are from 1981, the year the school was built. No toilet seats, cracked porcelain, broken tiles. Encrusted faucets and only cold water. Parents had offered to donate money and time for the replacement. Not possible. It has to be done by a professional company after a tender process, and there is no money for that.
