Why don't construction prices go down?

On Youtube there is a video 'Hausbau Update 2024: Baupreise, Zinsen, Förderung und Trends' from the channel 'Fertighausexperte'. It reports that currently there is a discount of about 5-10% from the peak levels at the beginning of 2023 for prefab house providers. Throughout 2024, further discounts in the single-digit percentage range are expected despite falling construction interest rates.

I also heard from the environment that a general contractor lowered the price by another 10k after a rejection and then another 5k after a further rejection.

As usual, it seems the colleagues are not doing well at the moment if they contact you again unsolicited afterwards and adjust the price.

Fingerhaus had offered us 4 or 5% discount + photovoltaic system in summer, Streif Haus at the end of November about -30,000€.

Currently 8% discount at and €10,500 with local general contractor.

How high the damage for the company would be - no idea. However, the costs for new planning and possibly adjusting the kitchen will be covered ;)

So, were you already able to come to an agreement or is this just a guess? What additional costs does the kitchen fitter want to charge you?
