Why don't construction prices go down?

Splitting gone? Is that supposed to happen now? I read about the abolition of the 3/5 combination, but the splitting itself (joint use of the allowances) remains — I thought so

No, neither one nor the other is the problem.

The only problem is the wishes of the builders, which have been built up over the last 10 years with ever decreasing interest rates and ultimately virtually free money. Even today, many people (even more than 30 or 40 years ago) can acquire property.
BUT: No 180sqm for the two-person household (wasn't there just a thread here recently with a couple wanting to treat themselves to an average house with 170-180sqm?) with KNX, venetian blinds, solid plank flooring, etc.
The house that was normal in the past can still be built without problems today - 120sqm for the 3-person household for comparatively little money. If well planned, a second child's room or study is even possible. But not the ballroom anymore.

THIS is the only problem today.

The splitting is not supposed to be gone.
Unfortunately, many people equate it with that. You just have to read the comments under all the articles on the internet on this topic.
That the tax classes have nothing to do with the splitting is simply too much for most citizens ...

I am not a tax expert. Yes, initially the plan is to abolish income tax classes III and V. The mandatory legal regulation of income tax class IV with factor could ultimately be the entry point and attempt by the federal government to abolish the existing, tax-advantageous “splitting for spouses and registered partners.”

And of course, in the second attempt, the spousal splitting will be abolished. IV with factor inevitably leads to significantly higher prepayments to the tax office and initially considerably less net salary. I don’t even want to talk about the bureaucratic effort.

No one needs to sugarcoat this either; what is planned here is simply a huge outrage.

So a certain party is mainly voted for/promoted by people who can “naturally“ predict the future. I find that unprofessional, but that’s just a feeling… has already said everything about it and even provided numbers in an old thread. Otherwise, I find it very nice to see live how people try to create fear without substance.

Now Laier is coming again with the evil party.

What does that have to do with fearmongering when the top performers are continually being squeezed? That is the reality.
The housing market has largely collapsed, new constructions have failed.

Currently, about 30,000 new and warmly welcome newcomers come to Germany every month, not counting the Ukrainian refugees. But they also need somewhere to live.

So why should construction or land prices then fall?

And I have calculated it once. The monthly tax exemption amount is 976 euros. So even below the poverty line, incomes are still taxed. The small pensioner with a tiny pension still has to pay taxes even if it is no longer enough to live on.

I am not afraid, but then some should not complain in the wrong place. Again, construction prices are not the problem.
