The additional €30 per unit is worth it to me, thank you for the explanation.

It is not really clear to me why everything should be wired everywhere.

Isn't one well-placed FritzBox + WiFi everywhere + a good provider with fiber optics or similar + possibly repeaters in the attic enough? That the NAS or something similar should be connected directly to the router is okay, but everything else? My notebook doesn't even have a network port anymore...

Regards

No, that's not enough. Especially not when a building control system is involved. The Fritzbox quickly gets overwhelmed with many WLAN devices, and a repeater is by far the worst solution to extend a WLAN.

If you have no demands on the network and just occasionally visit the internet with a laptop/smartphone/tablet, that’s probably sufficient. 1-2 Netflix clients also work. Beyond that, or with somewhat more intensive usage in terms of devices, number, and traffic, a Fritzbox will also reach its limits.

Ok thanks. That fits. In our case, it would actually be without building automation.

Even without building automation, devices that work well in an apartment quickly reach their limits in the house (when it comes to WLAN). Furthermore, the CAT cabling can be used for different purposes.
