I have already been involved in the full automation of a three-family house, whose PLC communicated via several 20DA telephone cables with the entire collection of tiny sensors and actuators, operating trouble-free for over ten years. Professionally, I plan telecommunications, I have nothing to do with HVAC, but I like to learn.

Well then... that's why I'm asking (and I'm still not sure). Sometimes humor becomes forced. But anyway Thread creator already thought during planning that Wi-Fi from the basement with underfloor heating might not reach the whole house and that he would need access points. Hence the connection between underfloor heating and Cat 7.

So you mean, with

it was meant, "I had network cabling installed on all floors to avoid accidentally perforating the underfloor heating when drilling through ceilings"? - well, that would explain my surprise about the supposed connection and we agree that for the control of the underfloor heating itself, thanks to the control commands far below Btx baud rates, doorbell wire is sufficient even if the April issue of c´t says otherwise.
Well, then I am relieved and don't have to fear that the world has suddenly gone crazy and that I am just noticing it again with hours of delay. The same applies to your concern that I am really as humorous as I pretend to be.

Yes, of course this is only about underfloor heating itself, which should possibly not only not be drilled into but depending on how it was installed can also be a significant interference factor for radio signals of any kind.

This is what I read from the thread title...

So actually I only have one CAT7 per floor. Guest WC, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom do not have CAT7 sockets - I think they are dispensable there. I thought Wi-Fi would be enough (or not)? In the children's rooms there are pre-installed empty conduits.

Because of the underfloor heating, each floor was taken into account due to the shielding effect of the water in the heating.

So, as I understand it, I can connect the FritzBox in the basement, then connect all CAT7 connections to it (physically we are still in the basement), on the ground floor I will use another FritzBox, which I use for WLAN and DECT telephony. In the two upper floors, I will install access points (does anyone have a product recommendation?), The empty conduits for the children will remain free for now. I wonder if the CAT7 connections will still be usable until my daughter is of internet age (she will be two). Is this sufficient for average household use (surfing, streaming, Amazon Echo and my wife's Thermomix)?
