Why don't construction prices go down?

We are not living in a fantasy. I wouldn't wait too long. I really can't imagine that prices for photovoltaic systems will drop any further. Currently, photovoltaic companies probably still have expensive components in stock that they need to get rid of.

Due to the KfW 442, a short increase is to be expected again for photovoltaic systems. At least my solar installer has raised the prices. Then I will wait and see.

Material prices are usually overestimated in their influence on the total price.
The same applies in a similar, somewhat milder way to products.

What definitely will not decrease in the foreseeable future are energy costs, wages, and other ancillary costs of the craft business, such as rent, vehicles, tools, etc.
By the way, often underestimated as well, special tools and measuring devices cost a lot of money, must be regularly sent for inspection, and so on. All of that has to be included in the hourly rate; the craftsman doesn’t have other income ;)

At least, I don’t know any craftsmen who drive a Porsche.

Therefore, even if the prices for photovoltaic panels fall by 50%, the offers from the solar specialist won’t be 50% cheaper, but rather 10 or 15%.

When I currently see what the material for a 15kWp system costs, then the final prices should come down further as well: - Modules from €2,500 for 36 pieces - Hybrid inverter from €1,500 or if desired without battery, then from €1,000 - Storage 10kWh from €2,500 - Plus wiring, scaffolding, mounting material, etc.

Then, at prices well over €20,000, either the stock is being cleared out or the solar installer is still making a golden nose.

Just so you know...
I can get a new 718 Porsche for just over €60,000. A tradesman’s Vito also costs nearly €60,000 new with a bit of equipment.
The comparisons are seriously off.
I have 3 tradesmen in my immediate neighborhood.
1. Electrician, besides his M5 he also ordered a new M3 for his wife (housewife, doesn’t work herself)
2. Heating installer, bought the 3rd rental house for the 3rd consecutive year so the money is gone and he can work.
3. Tiler, has been at home since October. When I asked if he perhaps has a serious illness or something like that, the answer was he "has it in for this year" and has to stop, otherwise he has to pay too much tax. By the way, he drives a GLS 63...

I didn't say anything about the owner. Do the journeymen also drive M5?
