But all that was a long time ago, and the concern now is that in the long term nothing will come from Germany for the time being. For various reasons.

It was actually just about the comment "we as a small people can't do anything big for the world anyway," that this simply isn't true. Inventions could have come from other countries as well.
But even currently there is good news from Germany. Most recently the first mRNA vaccine worldwide – Corona...
Or also in patent applications, Germany is still way ahead. We are still, for example, in 2nd place worldwide in university patents (in absolute numbers) – only the USA is ahead of us. Just to name one statistic. We are still capable and good. Not everything is just black and dark gray in Germany and our economy.

But currently we feel like we are resting.. the big innovations don’t seem to exist anymore, it’s just somehow being barely kept alive. When I experience daily what goes on in school and at work, oh dear. Maybe some individual areas are still top but the big picture will soon crash.

And I can no longer understand this doomsday mood. Everyone just complaining, everything is bad with us. Where does that actually come from? Sure, we’ve had better times, but also worse ones. A little optimism and a “let’s pull the cart out of the mud” mentality would suit us quite well too.

It gets really funny when the answer to our problems for almost 30% of the population is supposed to be “Mister back to the past” Merz.

Here are some current forecasts. 37% is not nearly.

Does it get better if Mister I blow money on everything but don't save (Scholz) or Mister I save the world but have no idea about the economy (Habeck) or even a right-populist "lesbian" who prefers to live in Switzerland (Weidel) are the solution?
