Why don't construction prices go down?

Kingtrade is just a regular hardware store in Dubrovnik, right? What’s the difference compared to a well-stocked hardware store in Germany? There isn’t any. You can get such "cheap fittings" here for the same price thrown in – just no name. I don’t have to go to Croatia for that.

Or you buy quality like from Villeroy & Boch – for example, it also only costs 200€. You can convince yourself that your hardware store stuff is great, but it isn’t.

Scandalous! It’s also normal to expect the same quality at a much lower price.
I’m always disappointed when my smartwatch from Wish isn’t as great as an Apple Watch Ultra.
The thing is, a low price has to come from somewhere. The question is whether you can live with that.

I know that well, but the original poster of these pictures said that the parts were so high quality, and I just don't see that visually.

In my opinion, quality in the field of fittings cannot be determined by the design. The inner values matter more: ceramic seals, brass spindle, maybe even a lubricant depot like Grohe? If design and price also match… why not?

What doesn't convince in quality can never be good in price.

Apart from that, your criticism already seems very forced, like "That can't be, so it must be cheap junk." An uneven basin? Even the Croatians can manage that. Judging something solely by reflections, that's pretty harsh.
But you also come with the wisdom that certain goods should at best be used for the Romanian ghetto.

It is a fact that the same goods are sold at different prices in Germany than abroad. Certainly not by a factor >2. But Germans are often trusted with higher prices, especially for furniture and cars. It's still prestige and only what is really expensive is also really good.

When riding a horse, the fall height is relatively large. Think about it.

I just had some fun visiting the shop mentioned by (where he saw the great faucet) to check prices. The branded faucets are about twice the price there. And that means MORE EXPENSIVE!!! A regular Grohe faucet costs just over €60 in Germany, about €105 in the Croatian shop. So much for the topic "I save money abroad". Yes, maybe a bit on DIY-store stuff (if at all), but branded goods (at least regarding bathroom equipment) are actually much cheaper in Germany. Hansgrohe had similar ratios. Conclusion: Croatia is at least not worth it for bathroom shopping.
