Hello, I spoke a few days ago with a salesperson from a GU who told me that at least with them (Bayern) prices are rising again, due to CO2/toll fees etc. Building materials, on the other hand, have not increased. I was quite surprised by that. The house I had in mind has risen by around €15,000.00 (after comparing the price lists...)

Why don't construction prices go down? It says in the title.

It's very simple. Because we have high inflation. It's as simple as that.

Simple solutions are only cool if they are good. The numbers say exactly the opposite: Producer prices with or without energy are negative regardless of whether in 3-month, 6-month, or 12-month rates.

Consumer prices are below +3% in the 12-month rate, just above zero in the 6-month rate, negative in the 3-month rate.

You can get the numbers from Statista or similar.

WHERE exactly is the high inflation?

You can actually find this quite easily. I don’t know why some people try to fight against it, wonder, and try to come up with arguments. Prices have increased by an average of up to 9% in the year before last and last year. In some sectors even more, partly over 20% in construction.

The thing about the inflation rate is not that if it drops from 9% last year to 5-6% this year or even to 4% in January 2024, then prices go down: NO, they just don’t rise as quickly as before, but they keep rising. You actually learn that in school too.

Yes. Here is the index in absolute numbers. We see: There is no inflation because the price level has stabilized. The exact numbers in relative terms are attached here:

You said that construction prices didn’t go down because of high inflation. Now you yourself correct to “no falling price level.” Notice that?
