Underfloor heating also in the technical room / utility room

We relied on the heating company's planning. Now there is also underfloor heating in the utility room. Whether that is a disadvantage, I cannot say.

IMHO, a heat load calculation should be made room by room and then determine whether regularly installed heating coils are needed, or if the pipes already lying there are sufficient. I do not know if this is the standard procedure. From previous statements, the builders seem to know (from where?), that no underfloor heating is required.

Moreover, I believe that other rooms also contain technology that produces heat (refrigerator, television, "human machine," among others). Whether that is sufficient depends on various factors (climate zone, desired temperature, heat losses; to name the most important aspects besides the heat source itself, of course).

I see it the same way as Bieber0815 I also had as much pipe as possible laid everywhere at short distances. Had a heat load calculation done beforehand. If you do not heat certain rooms, the heat will be drawn from other areas, which can make it difficult where you want the heat or you have to turn up the supply accordingly... is that sensible? But it gives the impression that there are enough heating professionals here and everyone thinks they know better... all just because of a little bit of pipe.

Both bortel and Bieber are right. A room-by-room heating load calculation is MANDATORY especially for a heat pump. Many things have to be considered here, particularly the lowest possible supply temperature. And if the utility room is within the thermal envelope, it should also be heated, because otherwise, as already mentioned, it takes heat from other rooms at the expense of efficiency.

And if someone now says: oh, I have gas, etc.... Probably true. For now. But most people live many, many years in their house and one should prepare for the future, provided it is affordable. And what is the cost of 100 meters of pipe?

Two acquaintances in the circle of friends are SHK fitters and both usually say about such things, "Oh, plans?! ... no, we better do it this way or that." But when it came to the installation, we laid the pipes strictly according to the heating load calculation and design. So we also installed a separate heating circuit in the HT room, with the areas under the heat pump (brine), the storage tank, and the WA or dryer of course left free.

With us, there will also be only one room without [ ]. That is a storage room in the basement. Otherwise, all rooms in the basement are heated.

Our heating engineer has now also installed the underfloor heating in our utility room, and it doesn't cost anything extra.

Best regards
