Floor plan: pantry or larger kitchen? Experiences?

I see no space for a pantry. The kitchen as drawn only allows for making sandwiches, microwave meals, and coffee. There is a lack of countertop space.

what has not yet been mentioned is where the second refrigerator, freezer, and beverage crates are supposed to go. also the food items that are not to be stored in the cupboard. if you have to go from the first floor to the basement for this, it is inconvenient.

Well, I would also "vote" against the pantry! If the position of the kitchen is to remain as it is, I would rather tend towards a variant with tall cabinets on the exterior wall and a cooking/washing island. There is quite a bit of space on the wall, so tall cabinets for supplies, household appliances, fridge/freezer, etc. should fit there. The pantry would be about 3 meters wide, so at least 5 tall cabinets would fit there, and there is still space towards the dining area. Then a large cooking/washing island, which can certainly be done very stylishly. Possibly the cooktop could also be placed on the exterior wall (?), with, for example, 2 tall cabinets on the left/right, then 3 regular cabinets (with the cooktop in the middle), and hanging cabinets above. And then the large sink/work island!
