Really? Can you show a picture? I can't imagine what something like that looks like.

had that only temp. as an option, but we don't need it since we decided against floor-to-ceiling windows on the upper floor. Therefore, unfortunately, your only option is to google.

? You can set parapets however you like. But if you think that 40 is not enough, I agree with you. Floor-to-ceiling windows ultimately have only one good feature – namely for those who walk by below or stand opposite and can look into the room. For me, in private floors everything below waist height is taboo; I would always recommend (masonry) parapets. With roller shutters, it applies: either up or completely down for privacy and intimacy, not just halfway. And then it’s dark :( Otherwise, for the question: alternative windows with a horizontal two-part division, fixed bottom plus top sash. But that is probably not desired?

It was not a problem at all. At the inspection, there was a very simple provisional railing attached.

I wouldn’t take that risk with children in the household. We have lockable window handles everywhere in the apartment. A few weeks ago, the balcony door was open because the little child managed to get the key with the help of a stool and a box. The child was already standing on the potted plant to get a better view over the balcony railing. The older child can reach it anyway and also likes to leave the key in the handle...
