yes dear ones, so because of the slope it is possible to go directly from the balcony onto the lawn. So I would be directly in the "garden". We don't want to put a staircase there at all. I have to see if I have some photos where you can better see the property or the slope... but I will only be home again tomorrow.

Amazing, the idea with the upper floor is totally great, thank you. Do you happen to have an idea for the ground floor as well?

Yes, when it comes to boundary construction, that only works through a building encumbrance on the neighbor. In this case, that is my father and he agreed to it... phew

That is also the case

That would be very helpful. Just as wonderfully a split level can fit when the terrain height front/back differs by half a floor, it fits much less well when there is a difference of a whole floor. And unfortunately noticeable at first glance.

Hope you can somewhat recognize the slope in the photos... I can only do everything on mobile right now

Well, in any case, I'm now working on putting the heating back in the garage and somehow improving the ground floor. But I think the idea with the hallway is pretty good.

Thanks to you all anyway

The majority of the garden and the courtyard are accessible from the ground floor, right?

Personally, I would swap the floors.
For me, the garden/courtyard belongs to the living and cooking level.
This shortens walking distances.
I also find that an open floor plan better compensates for the handicap "house side without windows."

Upstairs, you can then distribute the rooms much better. The handicap is gone. If you still have time, you can enjoy the view from the roof terrace on beautiful, quiet summer nights or relax there after a sauna session.

Yes, but of course you first go to the driveway. Between the garage and the house, almost everything will actually be paved. Swapping certainly makes sense... I just thought it would be brighter upstairs... and since you spend most of the time in the kitchen and dining room, it would make sense on the upper floor. ...well, slowly I am running out of arguments because let's say you leave the upper floor as it is, I really can't find a plan (not even on Pinterest or anything) for how to design the ground floor.

Our open space for cooking, eating, living. I find it already bright and airy. Especially now when the sliding door is open.
