Generally, I agree with you, but if you are disciplined, it works that way too. Nowadays, no one needs a kitchen timer anymore - it is always in the oven and [DG]. I only use those now. And with my new oven, I can set several (how many I don't know) short times in parallel. And a nice fruit bowl is definitely an eye-catcher!

Why not you as well? For example, where the coffee machine is or something like that you will have, right? I remember that I already noticed in your planning that not only salt and pepper are left out in the open, but also other things in (constant) use. Man and woman don't want to constantly put something away just for the kitchen's sake, do they?!

It’s in all my devices too, but I still always use the timer to set, for example, tea times, especially in the evening, since I can’t see anything on my induction hob in the kitchen. I can operate the kitchen timer blindly, and I even take it with me when I’m upstairs in between. I do think that you limit yourself without a wall work surface; for me, that wouldn’t be an option.

Best regards
Sabine

Of course, we both gave it some thought. The coffee machine goes into the right niche on the back wall. The Thermomix disappears into a cabinet. In principle, we don't have many appliances left out openly. The kitchen offers quite a lot of storage space and with the pantry behind it, there is really a lot of room.

Yes, you have a lot of storage space, but no counter space. Once it disappears in the cupboard, it will only be used a fraction of the time. I assume your pantry is a windowless chamber where handling electrical devices openly is difficult or uncomfortable? Since one tends to want a surface to be tidy and not to have devices standing around, you will often be dissatisfied to use a device, but always with the thought "untidy, annoying, has to be put away." That is a pity! And who wants to have Siri around all the time? Siri herself also cannot cook. If I am correct, then I want your Thermi. Please contact me by PM regarding the address.
