That can happen. However, the doors in front of the kitchen island will only be used for rarely needed items; in front of them there will be a light gray bench and a light table with 4 chairs in different colors. This area can already be ruled out as "dark."
On the side of the refrigerator, the staircase of the same width continues, leading to the gallery. This otherwise large black surface is therefore also not to be seen as a "block." I think that will make a big difference.

The idea of having the cooktop and sink on the same level is very good. We consciously decided on the central arrangement in each respective area because the line of sight to the kitchen will not be in the axis of the cooktop and sink.
The niche of the sink has a depth of 80 cm, behind it there is some shelving and lighting.

We have seen this kitchen almost identically in a kitchen studio and it was neither too dark nor too wooden for us. I will provide original photos in July.

The doors are indeed kept in a matte black and have the effect of appearing silvery bright when viewed from the side against incoming light. The terrace door serves as the light source.

We ourselves are very curious.

Stainless steel could also have been an option. We treated the black surface with greasy fingers and dog nose and found the marks surprisingly unobtrusive and very easy to wash off. I haven't tested stainless steel.

The big problem with such combinations... After 5 years at the latest, you think about what a strange taste you had back then – it’s just not timeless at all. It doesn’t have to be, but that’s also a bit too extreme for me. Personally, I like a lot of high walls, but not all these open shelves. And I would use a downcraft system. These range hoods simply don’t look good.

If you address someone personally and "hit on" them, you should name the right person. If you are too clumsy with it, you should leave it. For clarification, my post that you mean: .... feel free to read the last sentence again, which is very likely only readable in this post in the expanded state. It was actually a bit more: criticism of lifestyle, alcoholism... the remark that children are more likely to succumb to alcohol if it is openly available in the household. If I had children, I would have reacted personally... I haven’t checked now: probably some users here have turned their backs on the thread. "Questioning" is not the same as "not okay" or "not liking." It is a call to awaken some critics here because they might have to take a look at themselves. You know: we have some of those "show pictures" threads here... and in most cases it works that no criticism is posted or a photo is simply liked because the OP’s courage is respected. I have seen some really ugly stuff here, but that doesn’t mean I have to diss or overinterpret an accessory. No one has to. In public forums, one should also maintain decency.

This probably refers to me? However, I did not write it that way (consciously), but merely stated that in my environment I have the impression that children then drink more alcohol later on, but I do NOT know if that is actually the case... just an impression. No one should feel attacked by that... as parents you want the best for your child, but whether my approach is ultimately better or worse than another, I can never know for sure (after all, no one here gives their child alcohol to drink). In any case, I did not want to attack anyone. If anyone felt attacked by my post, I would like to expressly apologize!

The thing about "timeless" is very important. We have been together for 30 years, built for the first time in 2001, and have quite a good confidence in what we do.
Downdraft is wonderful. I really like Bora and the people there very much – but unfortunately I wanted the full-surface induction cooktop, which does not work sensibly with downdraft. Hence the small Falmec Marylin hood made of ceramic.
