Nice collection, I also have 3-4 of them at home. Unfortunately, I currently have too many bottles open at home and have therefore imposed a purchase stop.

4 are open. Some favorites are not there at all because they are empty and there is also a purchasing stop here.

I am missing both Talisker 10 and 18.

And with gin, Hendrick's is always gone. Both in tonic and martini my favorite. Speaking of martini: A bottle of Noilly Prat is always in the fridge - and even without gin always affected by "extreme evaporation."

Drinking with style is unfortunately an expensive hobby.

Well, 2/3 of the quantity honestly goes to guests.

Also, the price jump for Elijah Craig (bourbon) hurt. Standard in the sour and guests' favorite. Due to supply shortages, the price has more than doubled. So nothing left anymore.

(I realize: Having guests is actually the expensive hobby...)

How much does something like this cost with you?

Nice collection

I also have a shopping ban. Don’t ask how hard last year was in Scotland. At least you can’t take a toddler into any distillery.
This year we’ll see. Maybe the pound will drop so it gets cheap without customs ruining the deal.

I drink smoky
Bowmore, Lagavulin, Laphroig, Ardbeg, Islay, Talisker, Highland Park, sometimes an Oban

An acquaintance does it like this: he pours Loch Lomond into an expensive decanter just for guests. Most don't notice. Mine drink hardly any, too smoky.
We have Glenkinchie 10 years in the 1-liter bottle from duty free. Quite generally accepted, price fits, good in cocktails, sours, neat, etc., doesn’t poison anyone like Loch Lomond.
Most stick to beer.

Many of my friends also like whisky, but hardly any smoky ones. That's why the focus.

I do like smoky whiskies that are old and where the smoke has partly broken down into other aromas. But that's simply: expensive at the moment. Highland Park 30. I'll treat myself "someday".
